What is your take on the term “pan-Indian star”?

Having worked across the industry, I do cherish the term a lot. The term ‘pan-Indian star’ represents more than just regional recognition—it embodies the idea of transcending boundaries and resonating with nationwide audiences. To me, it signifies the opportunity to connect with diverse cultures, languages, and people through the medium of cinema. It’s a privilege and responsibility that I take to heart, as I strive to create content that appeals to audiences from every corner of our vibrant nation.

Do you think it’s an added responsibility for you when you associate your name with a brand? What are the things you ensure are there to say yes?

As an actor, I feel it is my responsibility to represent a brand whose philosophy and ethos align with what I stand for. I am grateful to be part of the Fiama family. As a brand not only do they care for physical well-being but are equally vocal about their focus on democratizing mental health and conversations around it.

You’re only 27 but you’ve already achieved such massive fame – What have been your learnings during your career?

I’ve spent close to seven years in the industry, and I’ve had the privilege of working on diverse projects in both South India and Bollywood, alongside some of the best actors in the country. I’m truly grateful for these opportunities.

I approach each day with a sense of humility and a willingness to learn through the process. I have also understood the importance of patience and staying grounded. Connecting with my roots and loved ones keeps me anchored and secure amidst the fame. It’s a feeling like no other, and I hold it close to my heart.

How do you deal with fame and the loss of privacy that comes with it?

To put it simply, yes being a public figure comes with challenges at times. With the rise of social media, every aspect of our lives is out there and of course, it builds a connection with our fans and the community at large. However, I remind myself that being in the limelight means accepting everything that comes at you gracefully.  Ultimately, my priority is bringing joy to my audience through my work. If my performances can bring a smile to someone’s face, then that is what I will focus my energy on. I’m here to entertain and connect with my fans, and as long as I’m achieving that, I find fulfillment in my role.

How do you look at your journey? Was there a time when people told you, you could not make it big? How did you deal with that?

Reflecting on my journey, I’m immensely grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have shaped me as an actor. From Kirik Party to Pushpa, each film has been a learning curve and a step forward in my career. Along the way, there were certainly moments when doubts crept in and people questioned my potential to succeed in the industry. However, I’ve always believed in my abilities and remained focused on my goals. I’ve learned to channel any negativity or skepticism into fuelling my determination to succeed. By staying true to myself and my craft, I’ve been able to overcome challenges and carve out a space for myself in the industry.

You are the national crush. How did that happen? Do you remember the first time you heard or read about it? What was your reaction?

It all began with being called the “Karnataka crush” initially, and then I realized one fine day that due to the immense love pouring from my fans and the media, I was now being recognized as the “National crush.” I was genuinely surprised and a bit overwhelmed when I first learned about it as it was an incredible feeling.

You’ve had a humble beginning but at this stage in your career, where you can probably afford everything. I want to know if you still check the price tags, or wait for discounts. Or are you a spender?

The love and acceptance I receive from my fans keep me well-grounded. This acceptance has now granted me the life I once aspired to have.  But every small achievement is all because of the love that I receive from the industry and my audience. It is true that some days I do like to treat myself and some days I just want to relax and cherish these moments.

I thank my stars, I truly do, and I am grateful and beyond.

You are the brand ambassador for Fiama sandalwood oil and patchouli soaps. What can you tell us about your association with the brand?

This association holds a very special place in my heart, as I resonate completely with the brand ethos. Becoming the brand ambassador for Fiama Sandal came almost naturally to me. Since childhood, I have always seen sandal soaps in a certain ritualistic and ancient way, more so owing to my Coorgi roots. However, over the years, Fiama Sandal and its representation have not only broken every set notion of a typical sandal soap, but the brand has overall played a significant role in preserving holistic mental well-being. I want to go to Bali, Vietnam, and Seoul.
