Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s red carpet moment from a recent event is getting a lot of attention on social media.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh accompanied her father Prakash Padukone to the Indian Sports Honours event on Thursday and a video of the couple is getting a lot of attention online. As they arrived for the event in their car, Ranveer got out first, followed by Deepika. He tried to give her his hand to hold but she chose to hold her saree instead. Her seemingly ignoring his romantic gesture is getting some comments on social media.
A person said, “Deepika gusse mai hai. Usne hath nahi pakda (Deepika seems angry. She did not hold his hand).” Another wrote, “Their bodylanguage has changed completely… I feel, they had a fight before this event.” A comment also read, “Guys kuch toh gadbad hai (something is wrong)..he is not liking her posts…nor she holding his hand …looks like romance ended soon.’ Multiple comments were on similar line with many wondering if all is not well between the two.
Amid all this, fans of the actors also defended them. “People she might not be angry, she is a different personality and an individual in her own right, why does she need to hold the hand of a man and be displayed as a trophy always,” asked a fan. “She’s just trying to manage her outfit. And he’s being a gentleman about it,” commented another. Another called them a genuine couple, “If they hold hands, people will say they are showing off, if they are not holding hands, people will say they are having problems. You can’t please people. They are the most genuine and generous couple.”
A fan also said that perhaps the couple was trying to be respectful towards her father. “Lol everyone is criticizing Deepika for not holding Ranveer’s hand, but you guys forgetting, her dad is accompanying them.. how can a girl hold her husband’s hand in front of her dad?
