Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are all set to embrace the new chapter in their lives – parenthood. The power couple announced their pregnancy on February 29 and expecting their first child in September, this year. Recently, Deepika’s sister Anisha reacted to this good news during an event.
Anisha Padukone On Deepika, Ranveer’s First Baby
During a conversation with an online portal, Anisha Padukone shared her excitement over this news and said “Great, great, first-time feeling.” When asked who would spoil the little munchkin most in the family, Anisha revealed at the MyFitness event by iDiva, “Spoil. It’s a tough one. I want to say Ranveer but I have a sneaky feeling that my parents are also gonna be right up there.”
For the unversed, the couple Deepika and Ranveer, took wedding vows with each other in 2018, after dating for six years. Last month in February, Deepika took to her Instagram handle to announce the news of her pregnancy. She revealed that the baby is due in September this year.
Ranveer and Deepika often talked about wanting to have kids. A few years ago, Ranveer said that he wanted to have a baby girl like Deepika. Deepika in an interview with Vogue Singapore in January 2024, expressed her excitement for parenthood, saying, “Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika was recently seen in the aerial action thriller film Fighter opposite Hrithik Roshan. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the film also starred Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi in pivotal roles and received good responses from the audience.
She will be next seen in the sci-fi action thriller film Kalki 2898 AD alongside south actor Prabhas. Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and will hit the theatres on May 9, 2024.
Ranveer, on the other hand, will be seen reprising his role of Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s cop drama ‘Singham Again’, which also stars Deepika Padukone, actors Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff and Kareena Kapoor Khan. He will also headline Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3.
