Zoya Akhtar’s unique collaboration with Arijit Singh for The Archies’ soundtrack
Earlier, while talking about Arijit’s song in The Archies, Zoya told Mirchi Plus that her work with him is the first of its kind. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed this song, and they have done about 6-7 tracks on this album. They discussed this and agreed that the song embodies the concept of a ‘feel-good’ song. In addition, Arijit came up in their discussions about who ought to record and perform this song. The filmmaker has never heard Arijit sing anything like this before, yet he reworked the song and had it recorded and submitted to them in three days. The music had such a bounce that it made your heart sway; when they first heard it in the studio, they were all like, ‘Oh my God.’
