In an old conversation with Ranveer Allahabadia, Kareena opened up about what caught her attention when she first met Saif. ‘When I first saw him, I was like I haven’t seen somebody so handsome, so good looking and somebody who has that natural glint in his eyes.
He was really charming. He also has very kind eyes, which, I think, women like in men. The natural kind, caring eyes that he has. So, that was the first thing,’ Kareena revealed.
The couple, who have co-starred in films like Tashan, Omkara, Kurbaan and Agent Vinod, got married in 2012 and are parents to two sons – Taimur and Jeh. Kareena also shared that she is still discovering her husband, even after all these years.
In a separate interview with The Dirty Magazine, Kareena talked about her decision to marry Saif. ‘The reason you get married now is that you want to have a child, right? I mean today otherwise you can just live together. We (Saif Ali Khan and I) lived together for five years, so when we took the next step, it was because we wanted to have children,’ she said.
As for parenting, Kareena believes in treating their sons as individuals and respecting their core personalities. ‘We treat them (the kids) as individuals, we respect them, and we just let them be. They will figure it out, they will find their own path.
Kids are quite resilient, you know… I want to live my life in front of my kids, I want to do everything with them. We have to be happy na, then they will flourish. I’m responsible for my own mental health first.’
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan was recently seen in Rajesh Krishnan’s The Crew and has Hansal Mehta’s The Buckingham Murders in the pipeline.
