Jaya Bachchan’s hate for the paparazzi culture is not hidden from anyone. On several instances, we have witnessed the veteran actress lashing out at the shutterbugs for clicking her pictures. Earlier, her children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda had appeared on the popular celebrity chat show, Koffee With Karan 6. During one of the segments of the show, Abhishek had revealed that whenever the Bachchan family steps out together with Jaya Bachchan for any public event, he, his father, Amitabh Bachchan, and his wifey, Aishwarya pray in silence. In his words:

‘If it’s like the four of us, Dad, Aishwarya and I just hold hands, say a silent prayer before the red carpet. And then we collect ourselves and walk on. If Shweta Di is with us, we just send her with Maa.’

Further, in the same conversation, Shweta Bachchan Nanda had talked about her mommy and revealed why Jaya Bachchan doesn’t like the paps around her. Elaborating on the same, Shweta said that her mother does not like many people around her as she starts feeling claustrophobic. Shweta had mentioned:
‘She gets very claustrophobic when there are too many people around her. She also doesn’t like it when people take her pictures without asking her. She comes from that school of thought.’

Time and again, Jaya Bachchan makes it to the headline for her ugly encounter with the paps. The veteran actress often expresses her anger at the paparazzi culture as she feels that the shutterbugs try to intrude on her privacy. For instance, on October 25, 2022, Jaya Bachchan was spotted outside her house amid her family’s Diwali bash. In a video doing rounds on the internet, Jaya was seen chasing away paparazzi stationed outside their home, as they tried to click the pictures and called them ‘intruders’. She got irked and reacted angrily at the paps, saying:
‘Kaise flash kar rahe hai aap? Intruders.’
