Salman Khan’s Ex-E39 BMW M5
These pictures of Salman Khan’s old E39 BMW M5 have been shared on Instagram by Car Crazy India on their page. The pictures show this sedan parked during a car meet in Mumbai. The post mentions that this car, which was once owned by Salman Khan, had an interesting addition. It stated that at the time Salman Khan had this car, it was equipped with bulletproof windows due to the condition of Bollywood at that time.
Now, at the moment, it is not confirmed if the current owner has kept the bulletproof windows or not. This is because the E39 M5 is regarded as one of the best handling and driving enthusiast cars, and bulletproof windows add a substantial amount of weight. This weight can alter the driving experience, so it could be possible that the owner might have changed them. However, at the moment, there is no certainty.
Modifications done by the new owner
Apart from this, there are numerous changes that we know for sure have been added by the new owner. During the time Salman Khan owned this BMW M5, it was finished in a very unique shade of Bluewater Metallic Blue color. Currently, the car has been repainted in BMW’s original Titanium Silver color. Other modifications include the new multispoke black alloy wheels, which have a bright red barrel inside and a red center cap.
Additionally, on the front, the car has also been given a new and much more aggressive carbon fiber front splitter. It has also been given an equally aggressive bonnet as well, which gets carbon fiber scoops to cool the engine. Apart from these modifications at the rear, the car has been given a new carbon fiber spoiler on top of the rear windshield as well as a new carbon fiber lip spoiler on the bootlid. It appears that the exhaust tips have also been changed, suggesting that the car could have also been given a brand new exhaust; however, there is no confirmation about this.
E39 M5 engine
The E39 BMW M5, as mentioned, is one of the all-time greatest driving cars from the German carmaker. Currently, even the used examples of this sedan in pristine condition are fetching high amounts of money as they are becoming a collector’s item. This generation of the M5 came powered by an S62 V8 engine that managed to produce an impressive 400 PS of power and 500 Nm of torque. It came mated to a six-speed manual transmission, which was taken from its non-performance-oriented E39 540i but was installed with an upgraded clutch due to the increased torque.
