Kumud Mishra, who was recently seen in Tiger 3, Mission Raniganj and The Great Indian Family, first tasted fame when he appeared in a small but significant role in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar. In the film, Kumud played Khatana who acts like a mentor to Ranbir Kapoor’s Jordan. In a recent interview, Kumud opened up about his experience of working with Ranbir and said that there is an ease to the way Ranbir works.
Saying that he was a big fan of Ranbir, Kumud shared that Ranbir does not make you feel the burden of his process, and that’s a commendable thing about his acting. He said, “I think he is one of the finest we have. I am a big fan. He is an amazing actor. He is an honest actor. He is one of those actors… you can’t decipher his process. As an actor, sometimes when we play characters, the burden of our preparation comes across in our performance. I don’t think that journey of preparation is important (to see). The message should get across. I think Ranbir is one of them.”
Kumud also worked with Salman in Tiger 3 recently. He has previously worked with the star in Bharat, Sultan and many other films and when asked about his experience of working with Salman, Kumud said that what the audience gets to see of Salman on screen, is his true self. He added that there was nothing fake about him. “He is amazing, vulnerable. There is so much more in him than what he has already given. It’s his choice as to what he wants to give to the world. There is a certain truth that you can see in his eyes. What one sees on the screen is the truth. That’s not fake,” he said in the same conversation.
Kumud Mishra recently appeared in the third season of the web series TVF Tripling. His work in Lust Stories 2, with Kajol was widely appreciated.
